The original college buildings date back to the early 20th century, with the development converted between 2009 and 2013.
The Resident Management Company, taken over by resident directors shortly after completion in 2013, appointed Remus Management as their preferred managing agent in 2014.
Over the past decade, Remus has worked closely with the resident directors. Their focus has been on maintaining and enhancing the development.
This includes a mix of tenures and facilities, such as:
- A residents’ gym
- Basement parking
- Communal mechanical and electrical systems

They established robust financial, operational, and compliance reporting with the board of directors and set up regular director meetings to enhance communication and site management
Project Management:

Over the 10 years with Remus, numerous projects were undertaken, including extensive external and internal redecorations and mechanical and electrical works to the water distribution systems.
Approach:
These projects required significant financial planning, communication with residents and meticulous
project management over several years to ensure successful completion.
Multiple Stakeholders:
Complexity:
The buildings are owned by various freeholders, including investment funds, housing associations, resident enfranchised blocks, and the resident management company.
Management Strategy:
Remus implemented robust systems and procedures to clarify and manage responsibilities and successfully encouraged the Housing Association to take an active role as a director of the Residents Management Company, this helped in ensuring clear awareness of the elements managed by each stakeholder.

The Oaklands College Development stands as a testament to the effective management and strategic planning by Remus.
By addressing historical issues, undertaking extensive project management, and navigating the complexities of multiple stakeholders, Remus has successfully maintained and enhanced the development.
